my team was Bill Versaw, Joe Freedman and myself, we went for $300 which was at a discount since 12 teams / 31 people sold for $3980.

Bob's story about my motivation for buying back was essentially correct as I explained it to him today, poor Joe!! :-) (He'll get his revenge against me I know, he owns me at the club). But I would have bought back anyway since my doubles partner bought our team, so I wasn't going to let him hold the bag for me anyway. My doubles partner bought my team and his team, and a member of his team won the Consolation (Rod Colvin) so he picked up the top three of the four Calcutta payouts so he was in the black for the weekend despite not having a lot of success over the board.
