If the homeboard was closed would you still prefer 13/12 over 7/6 with an ace? I can prove 7/6 is at least as good. But you don't believe in mathematical proofs do you?

What the actual result is: If running off the gammon is the only consideration, and there is no contact, and you have a single number to play, then it is correct to play to the 6 point if possible. Extremely similar to Magriel's theorem about using an ace to bear off but this time the proof actually works.
