There is kind of a paradox here. A competitor, by nature, has to care about winning and losing. In order to win you have to want to win. OTOH, it seems to me that getting too vested in the outcome of any particular game is detrimental.

I try to play my best game all the time and not worry too much about the results of 1-game rollouts, or the ERs involved.
