Pos 1 - Was there a way that you could have hit fewer of his checkers
I did, during the prop, try to find the balance between "too many men back". As you well know, any blots he left deeper than his 5pt (sometimes hitting the 4pt, depends) if I had the choice I would let them linger and die if I had any say in the matter. Pushing checkers that deep so early is the goal of the position, to get him to kill off as many checkers as possible to the ace and deuce points, this can't happen if I prime them all.
Pos 2) You got fucked..but on another day you'll pitch nickels and end up with a BG
Expecting to toss a big set here, though it happens more often than me not getting by and Ray hitting, isn't my expected outcome either. After he missed the first shot I simply bank on winning a gammon and any other outcome is nonsense. I'd hazard a good guess I know how often Ray can roll this home after hitting. I'm one of the people who performed all those snake rollouts between GNU & Snowie remember. The biggest difference being the bots had all 15 checkers in play and again, even after he hits I have 7 off and he already has two on the ace, his chances are slim to none with me on roll and slim is looking ethiopic. That, and who do you think Snakes better, Ray or your favorite bot?
Pos 2a) You recubed to 8 in a 4 roll bearoff with 58% GWC. This is not a mistake that a WC player sb making
No argument there. When it was brought up later and I mulled over it longer I saw my reflex reasoning was way off. I saw approx. 20 market losing sequences and turned the cube, I was wrong to do so because my market loss is so small and his recubes are so efficient.
yada yada yada, we all know I just like to bitch sometimes :)
