Thanks for the post and the site/forums are as much help to me as they are to you I'm sure. If I'm only outplaying my opponents 97% of the time that's my fault and why I'm taking some time trying to not play like a donk right now. I do always expect to win though rationally I realize coming in over 60%, as you say, is the real goal in backgammon.

I think what notched me off was the manner in which I seem to be losing. I can swallow losing to someone who plays a 5.X ER when I play a 2.X ER, I've always maintained if you play a 4-5 ER you can win basically any match you play. It's the massive luda swings that get me, and not just the open at any ABT event. While the masters may be packed with more talent so I'm less likely to win it, the doubles is packed with a lot less talent so it's even more disappointing to get knocked off there. I realize of course that the shortened match length cuts into how much of a favorite my team may be but still, getting G'ed like a gimp makes me want to punish my chair à la Sax.

You can be as good as I am, as good as Neil is, as good as anyone is if you want, don't sell yourself short and ignore those who tell you playing consistently at a 2 ER is impossible, another theory I plan on debunking eventually. (though with slight modifications that I won't go into here lol)
