You're worrying about one roll, double sixes, recurring over X amount of turns. Even if your opponent does throw them you'll be slightly ahead in the race being on roll (even with your wastage). The opposing view is worrying about two immediate rolls which, in my opinion, hurt more than the double sixes overall. I said OtB I'd pick up the ten point, 10/8 10/7 with such a racing lead.
