I'd prefer to just see matches being lost if they're flagged, it can prevent some kinds of gamesmanship that Bob Koca mentioned in a previous post. For example, I saw a match in Baltimore where player A is losing at 11-away, 10-away with the cube on 16. Why not just wait the clock out and take two penalty points. Quite a difference!!

I guess in that case the penalty would need to be twice that of the current cube level (twice the cube level in order to prevent someone from gaming the system when in danger of losing a gammon). But then this might pretty quickly be not so different then just losing the match anyway.
