I do feel that someone shouldn't flag, or even use up their reserve time, by cocking their dice a few times. I also feel that the current cocked dice rule is inherently not really fair, even if the difference is minimal. I think there are two reasonable ways to solve it: 1) the buffer is reset, 2) the player on roll stops the clock, picks up the dice, rolls, the opponent starts the clock when a legal roll is thrown. I honestly don't see a problem with either of those. There's no way to angle shoot.
I don't agree. Learn to roll the dice, it's not that hard. If you don't roll like a loon you cock once in a great while, it's not that hard - the other way creates more annoying rules that aren't needed and there is an angle shoot. If I'm running low on time I try to cock the dice on purpose to go through how to play all the numbers in my head. Simplify, flag drops, you lose, cocked dice, learn to roll, no resetting, when you introduce other things like "losing 2 pts" or "cocked dice I'll hit my clock, then you hit yours", restart" you have to add another subset of rules when they're really unnecessary.
