I think once again we should look to the Danes:

Section 3.5 of the above link seems leads me to think that

'Clocks preferred' is the most natural sounding equivalent of 'Clocks insistable'

• Both players must approve is "Clocks optional"
• Either player may request clock is "Clocks preferred"
• Players must use clock is "Clocks mandatory or Clocks obligatory"
