I don't fall into a category you listed so I'm not sure I'm qualified to answer your question but once again making clocks mandatory simplifies things, no stupid terms, no weird rules. just the beautiful ringing phrase of "all matches will be clocked".

Which is exactly what I feel my proposal accomplishes for the 2010 season. I'd love to make 2009 clock mandatory as well, but we have a few problems.

1) Not enough players have clocks

2) Few directors have adequate clocks to clock the entire champ level event

3) Some players have no experience playing with a clock. It is true that they will often be forced to play with a clock in 2009 under my proposal, but at least in early 2009, a player with no clock experience won't likely be forced to play every match clocked. I feel that this will be less extreme for them to accept than .."OMG I have to play all matches clocked, but I never have used one".
