Let's take a look at how white can escape:

right now: a 26, 35, or 36 can spring him loose, a total of 6 rolls.

If we hit and cover on the ace: 36 and 45 let him escape, a total of 4 rolls...

This makes the hit and cover appear correct, but the problem is, we lose all of our builders that way, and even if he enters and can't escape, it will be hard to contain him the next roll.

I like 24/20, 13/8 here. It adds another builder to our 8 point, and really makes it unappealing for white to step up to the edge of our prime. If we strip the entire prime to POH here, he'd be perfectly happy entering on our 3 or 4 and sitting there.
