I wasn't sure about this one, so I took a look at each of White's responses after both 24/20 13/8, and 6/1* 5/1. I spent about a second on each play, rating it +, -, or = from White's perspective. After doing so, it seems pretty clear that White would rather have us play 24/20 13/8.

White has several tasks to accomplish to win this game: safety his outfield blot, improve his awkward position up front, escape his remaining checker. 24/20 13/8 gives him his entire roll to accomplish these things--his several PoH rolls are particularly helpful--while after 6/1* 5/1 he often can't accomplish any of them.

White needs to improve in so many areas that it looks worth damaging our structure to keep him vulnerable.
