Well, we weren't really trying to "crush" blue. Just play to win the match. Bob wanted to do something less interactive, but I was insistent on hitting two because I thought it was the best play that's all. In backgammon it doesn't get much better than two men up and leaving a direct shot. One's imagination can prevent him from making winning plays by over emphasizing the gammon save aspect. Find the best play and do it, and then the match reaches DMP less often.
