My clock proposal for ABT events for 2009 and beyond

I am neutral to positively inclined to the use of clocks to avoid undue amounts of time particularly, in Doubles matches. After a few years at BG, I find the clocks inconsequential as in Chess. However, I would allow Directors discretion especially, for new players that are intimidated or distracted by a clock. Also I would keep the policy simple even at the expense of a transition period. Complex rules and lack of attention to issues of marketing and etiquette will only serve to continue to dampen participation, sponsorship and enthusiasm for the sport and business of Backgammon despite all of the hard work and efforts by a number of Directors and players.
