Tournament format+schedule -- proposal

The problem is that the 12s/play, 2 min/matchpoint per player settings makes 2 hours tight already and an extra 10 minutes would blow the time window. However, if the interval between match starting times were 2:15,

Argh! Clocks ought to make tournaments run faster, not slower, with less waiting time, not more.

In the years I directed the DBgF Mixed Doubles Championship (despite its name, not a doubles event), I'd estimate that 95% of our 9-point matches (played without clocks) were completed in less than 90 minutes, and nearly all the rest no more than 10 or 15 minutes later. I scheduled 90 minutes playing time per round (6 on Saturday, 5 on Sunday), with 15 minutes between rounds as break or "last game" time for the players while we made the Swiss-style pairings for the next round.

I have to think that if a schedule anticipates players needing 2 hours per 9 point match, the time controls are much too generous.
