Hitting gains 18 pips in the race but leaves 3 blots and lets Kit hit back with almost anything that enters. If you then roll poorly from the bar, things could get real bad quickly while hitting back doesn't figure to help you all that much. I like the quiet B-18. Magriel's criteria seem to suggest safety here, and this position doesn't look like an exception.
