Seems like if you leave the 17-1 shot, that represents about 5.6% equity for him. Assuming you close him out after that, and achieve 97% it means you'd lose maybe 8% of the time. With two checkers out of play below your 6 prime, it seems that it would be easy to lose 10% of the time, so I would make the bar point now. Even if you are hit that doesn't always win, you have 4 return shots so his joker is only 90% effective right away, and you can enter, miss, and hit later also.
