Its a sorry tale.

So I got to this position, reshipped to 32, and got a take!!! Delighted. Anyway, I bring both out, hit a long shot, and got hit right back from the bar (5/36 hits). Start again, so I bring round my guys to an anchor on the 11, white has 2 on my 10, and they leave me a direct 4 on my bar point, so I hit that with a 43, bring both to 7 & 8 pts. 44 from the bar!!! To hit me right back! I roll a 55 so swing round, and get a checker off while white has 4 crossovers to get round. They roll 44 to bring them all in, i have 3 off now, they get 1 off, I have 5 off. They roll a big set to even up, and from there I rolled non doubles. they finished with a double on the last roll. I lost 34 pts in that game. Swing of 68pts - or 52pts if you consider the reship to 32 a drop (which I did, was sure I was cashing out). And all this from bearing in against anchors on my 4 & 1 for a gammon, since I was way too good.

Sorry sorry tale. No longer will the laughing hyenas get my pity when they lose gammons on silly cubes.

I console myself with the thought that over time, that kind of take will lead to far more points for me than it will for my opponents.
