At 2-ply and 4-ply sure enough gnubg preferred 5-3/4-3(2). At 3-ply 8-6(2) won out. I did a very quick rollout (1024 at lowest settings) that preferred 8-6(2). So there's definitely something odd with the neural-net evaluations.
