GNU memory leaks?

Assuming we're discussing the same kind of memory, in general, the longer you leave something open the more memory it will suck up...but 700k!? No, this is not the way it is. Whenever I get an IE window that is sucking over 100k I close it out & reopen the page. I can never remember my GNUs showing up as anything but standard memory usage numbers, 4X k, I just checked 3 computers, my quad core, my dual core laptop, and my old computer, all have been running rollouts for days (old computer for weeks) and the memory usage is within' the normal 40k range.
