The web server uses the extension to determine the content type, so the *.html are sent out with contenttype text/html, whereas the un-extended files are sent out as text/plain. Your web browser displays it as plain text if it does its job correctly.

The fix is to make sure that the server gives out the right content type - which as you say is easiest done by giving it a proper extension on the site.

Also, Stick, it would be very much appreciated if the main page alos links to the sub-pages instead of just running a plugin!
