Nice job, Rich and Bob..you guys certainly had me concerned that one of you'd catch me.

The point system is good the way it is as long as Tourneys pay an appropriate ammount of players.

Novi pays 9 since it with that format it would have to pay 13 otherwise. I suspect that if it grew to close to 128, CJC would pay 13 or perhaps the 128 DE and conso bracket would work out slightly different ?

Vegas pays 10 since Howard allows buybacks (I am very opposed to buybacks in ABT events, but at least there's plenty of time for it in LV), therefore Howard's payouts are structured for a 128 field.

Tourney ABT payouts are capped at 96 players so that a huge field..like the 150 Vegas used to get, won't totally overwhelm the ABT.

Yes, I won Novi, and it was a huge help for the ABT Title this season, but had I not won other small prizes elsewhere, not only would I have not won this year, I'd not have placed. I've won 4 ABT's but this is the only time I've won Novi since the ABT began (I think).

Re: 1000 Isles. They had more than the usual 20something players this year, and I understand that things are being discussed so that they pay more places next year (assuming they can find a better venue that the deteriorating Spider Web Point Resort).

Re: Minnesota or other events with small 16 player fields. MN paid 5 places, perhaps it should only have paid 4 ..ie have the loser of the conso finals feed into the finals of the LC or even semis (I'd have to work out the bracket) but that delays the event. But with such a small turnout, the overall effect on ABT Pts is so small anyhow when one considers an entire season.
