When ahead in the race, race. White may be thinking about hanging back on the 24 point to try to pick up another blot but that is the wrong idea here, IMHO. Blue has an advanced anchor, so any thoughts of a gammon here are not as realistic as when blue doesn't have an advanced anchor. Moving 13/9 leaves TMP as some would say here. TMP leave brittle positions which can then easily turn into brutal decisions next go around. Brittle positions/brutal decisions. Putting the spare on the eight and keeping the spare on the 13 point leave a little bit of flexibility along with your runner, if not hit, you should have an easier time coming home.

If you can't tell already, I agree with Charlie here.
