When the purpose is for the players, I can see many of the best enjoying that time control.

But if the purpose is for tv or other audiences, that seems too fast. My own enjoyment in viewing a match is enhanced when I have time to understand the play and think about the possibilities. I know the best players can and often do play very quickly when they understand the position, but even when sure they often pause a bit, if they have extra seconds before eating into the time bank, to just make sure they didn't miss something. And that pause can give a watching doof (me) enough time to figure out a play.

I think a balance between trying to get things moving quickly for the pros could be balanced for those of us less skilled spectators. In some circumstances anyway. If there's no audience or reasons to play to the audience then play at super fast controls.

The youtube match controls would be an example of something I wouldn't mind watching often, between top players.
