Well, I would like to see the rollout showing that Bob made a correct play in hitting you... He took one BIG chance like this against me once, and won also when I fanned 3 or 4 times on his swiss cheese board.

If your opponent makes an error in hitting.... (Remember, he should be wary of getting gammoned at this score).... Then it is just too bad when you lose because you most certainly made the best play.

What happened is largely irrelevant! You MUST be convinced that you will do the same play, INSTANTLY, next time. You can't force your opponents to lose, you can just give them good opportunities to.

He may well have made the best play, but after he hit, I bet you didn't mind much... UNTIL you fanned and lost!

Hang in there Bill, there are no guarantees in backgammon. You can only make it hard for them to win, not impossible!
