Angle Shooting

There really isn't much angle shooting possible with the Bronstein clock rules that we advocate for ABT Championship level matches.
Re LA...the unfortunate event at the Tuesday LA Club T, was with analog rules, and wouldn't have been an issue with Bronstein rules since Norm could've tolerated losing 3 minutes and even if he was down to a couple minutes left, he's certainly good enough to play almost every upcoming move in less than 12 seconds and not do much harm to his game. Patrick MFIC is a smart guy and he's trying out Bronstein rules tonite. I am so happy to see this that I nearly grabbed a quicky (4.5 hour) flight to LA to surprise everyone tonite to see how this would work first hand, but I felt that I'd be a couple hours too late to play.
Re LA Masters event incident with Ray and Joe... Joe stopped the clocks and then started to score the game. I guess he never said "Pass" or centered the cube, but, had the event been unclocked (I likely wouldn't have played it) Joe then would've said "pass" or at least grabbed the cube and tossed it to the side towards the center if he intended to pass.
Clocks greatly improve BG Tourneys and make the game move along quickly, but not at a frenetic pace.
