The best defense is a good offense (and so is the best offense). 8/4(3). What difference does it make if you get closed out with 3 on the roof or 4. Safetying one doesn't matter, and you're only saving a couple of shots anyway for which you get a bunch of returns. Most of white's good numbers are crushers regardless of the play. So make the play that wins the most when white rolls poorly.
