I wish there was some big concept that could be learned from this. Sometimes you just need to put on your bot hat and see how all of the numbers play.

Here's one way of looking at it: duplication vs. diversification.

The typical case of duplication:

Move number 10: Blue to play 62

White106


1O2X2X2X2X3X ' ' ' ' '2X

 '2O2O3O3O3O2X ' ' ' '1O

Blue91

Position ID: tu3AwAC2uwMBIA Match ID: cAnrACAAIAAA

After 24/18 then any move of the outfield checkers gives White 5s AND 3s to hit, so Blue should play within his board and just give 5s.

In the OP, regardless of which 5 Blue plays, White is still in "roll-a-4-or-die" mode.
