I can't imagine the split being wrong at GS. But the slot will no doubt come in a close second. 5-1 is just such an ugly roll so its a choice between dumb and dumber.
I often wonder about the gammon tradeoffs on the slot. Obviously getting hit is going to generate gammon losses. But succeeding in making the 5 point will save gammons; holding the ace point anchor will offer some gammon protection, and an often overlooked "feature" of getting hit is that it functions much like a split, increasing the chances of making a gammon defending advanced anchor. So it would not be surprising if these opposite effects largely cancel each other out.
