43 for about 8? equivalent
Do you mean that 43 is 8 shots 33 is the equivalent of 8 shots? How did you come up with 8 here?
Here's how I would look at it:
6s, 5s, and 4s clear (9 numbers). 22 clears, 11 almost clears (11 clearing numbers).
21 plays, 33 plays (3 numbers). That's 11 that clear and 3 that maintain status quo, so the other 22 numbers leave shots. 11/33 = 1/3, so about 2/3 of White's numbers leave an 11-14 number shot and the other 1/3 clear safely. Call it 2/3 of 12 and you wind up with ~8.
