ok, I wasnt aware that this was the common definition.
My definition would be along the lines of 'Suppose you had the choice of doubling right now while still normal backgammon cube rules apply for the rest of the game or having the cube be frozen for the rest of the game at its current value, how good do you need to be to double?"
I.e not ignoring future cube action if you choose to double now.
Your second statement is somewhat unclear for me if can be true, I have to think a bit on it but now I have to go to the pub.
