I will acknowledge that I could be wrong by a lot here. I will elaborate my thoughts.

It is likely we will be hit and won't make the five. We don't have enough checkers in the zone to effectively continue the attack after being hit. It is likely he will make an advanced anchor after being hit one way or another. And, there isn't a strong need for a tempo play considering his lack of builders on the other side. Only 6-1, 3-1 and 4-2 are spoiled. (I guess this is still signficiant.) Point making numbers with doubles work whether he is on the bar or not. Lastly, we aren't developing stacks of five by playing hit and down like we are in familar backgammon positions.

I'm interested in any details of your disagreement that you would like to share.
