In Response To: Speaking of match breaks -- ethics question (Steve Mellen)

If we're going to have adjournments in backgammon, similar to chess adjournments, I think they should be defined and regulated similarly.

Right now, the backgammon rules don't address "breaks" sufficiently clearly. So although I believe that during a dinner break the match is "in progress" and thus that whatever rules about external aids that apply during a game should apply during a dinner break, others may interpret "in progress" differently, because the rules don't give that term an explicit definition.

So, there could be breaks and there could be adjournments, and the rules for both could be different.
