Consulting a bot or discussing some past action is dubious in my book, because what you learn might help you in future decisions in the ongoing match.

There are instances where it truly wouldn't matter, and many borderline cases. Obviously, delineating them all is difficult, and enforcement is just about impossible (at least Big Brother, Inc. comes out with the Thought Police application).

I don't do it, but it's certainly a lot better than doing any of #2-4.
