I can't remember whether I called the director. I'm thinking not. If I didn't, it was because I had complained so much that tournament that I was sick of it. I did stick to the players the whole time they were away from the board. If I did call the director, the director said pooh-pooh.

The whole match was played under quite a cloud of controversy. Luckily, I won. The people involved were well known players who were, if not on home turf, much closer to home turf than I was.

Dubious practices abounded during the tournament, and the management didn't seem to care, if they even saw any of them as dubious. I never played in a tournament again that was directed by the same bunch.
