Only applies to ring play, and really isn't much use in limit play as you aren't playing for stacks there. (the EV of a straddle in limit is a lot lower than in NL.)

As far as making the calls on the blinds harder, I just have to say it depends. Usually against a straddle, I'll tighten up my play, and if I'm the straddler, ATFC will do...
