MCG -- Where is that clock/delay horror story?

It's amazing to me that these problems occurred in NYC with a four day event and Howard running it, but all the more evidence of the necessity of clocks.
Doubles is a real problem. I know CJC has told me that doubles will be "clocks mandatory" at her tourney this year -- though I don't know the settings.
Must have been really brutal on Rich since he lives in the area and, doubtlessly, had planned on sleeping at home.
It's amazing how often a player -- and it doesn't necessarily have to the caliber of a Falafel -- gets hot one weekend and advances in three events and we get into these ridiculous playing times.
Petko and I once had to play Garvie/Settles in the doubles final in Cleveland at 3:00 am Sunday morning since Neil G. was still alive in everything.
I rarely play doubles any longer because of the slowness of the matches and the probable scheduling problems. I play the Open and the Masters and the doubles really can get complicated. I played with Tammy in Denver because she needed a partner and we end up playing till close to 2 a.m. Sunday morning in the semifinal.
