Disagree. First of all, who keeps track of who has and who hasn't played with a clock before?

I'm not proposing this as some formal solution. I'm proposing it more along the lines of the "non-punitive" concept that's been brought up before. Say you're sitting down to play a match with Mr. Clock Newbie. You propose to play with a clock, but Mr. Newbie balks, citing his total lack of experience. Then you offer to play the match with a clock, but with no penalty for running out of time.

For me, since the MAIN draw of clocked play is improved mechanics, I'd be all for this.
