Thanks John. I didn't really consider passing up the hit. In retrospect I like the dual strategy of 20(2) 9(2). Protects from being gammoned (better than 16(2)) and still enhances Blue's gammon prospects by bringing in more ammunition and making a good offensive point. What Blue really wants to avoid is not winning by gammoning but a mutually gammonish position. 20 and 9 seems to do just that.
