But, overall, I would say it was a very successful usage of the clocks. It was so nice to sit down to a match with the clock already set up next to the board and there was no questions whatsoever.

Agreed here. I used a clock in all my matches (except doubles) and only one of my opponents even asked about it.

Given how I was feeling about the tournament before I left, I also share Neil's position that if Charlotte wasn't clocked, there is no chance in hell I would have gone. I liked the tournament and it was well run both with and without clock use but I otherwise wasn't feeling very keen on traveling to Charlotte and playing BG this weekend.
