Clocks in Charlotte

I'll conclude that clocks will not really speed up the entire bracket until it is clocks mandatory, not just clocks allowed, or insistable, or Clocks-OR, or whatever it is called.
I agree with this. I think clocks allowed (clock preference?) tourneys like Charlotte are a good way of transitioning to mandatory clocks but I'm not sure if it has a significant scheduling advantage.
Better yet, clock everything, and I mean everything, except, possibly, novice.
I feel this is a little excessive, as most will be playing intermediate...I am not sure intermediate/amateur jackpots need to be clocked (at least at present) as the matches are shorter and they tend to be newer players who may not have a clock available or know how to use one, etc. At any rate I'd rather see the open/masters/doubles clocked than the intermediate & amateur events.
