Stick With GNU the rollout is also stopped, not paused, but it is very simple to restart the rollout. Perhaps I didn't employ caution when choosing my words, if you stop a rollout in mid run can you easily restart said rollout?
No restart in this version, but expect it in the next. At the first glance I think it is not much work to integrate it, it just didn't come to my mind til now.
Stick I agree that rolling out with lower plys it likely doesn't matter because it will be done so quickly but I think it's a superb feature of GNU that it rolls two or more plays out in parallel. Perhaps I'm the only one, others can speak up, but I think this is a very important feature.
I think the point is to utilize current CPUs to reduce the rollout times. If you start the rollouts independent OR you use 2 or 3 ply you'll see all of your CPUs sweating ;)
I thought about about using all CPUs even when several positions started in parallel with 1-ply but it would have been a lot of work (1-2 weeks at least because I would have to change a lot of internal structures and that would delay other things. This way it was pretty cheap), 1-ply is very quick and one can always start the rollouts independently having just 1 or 2 additional mouse clicks.
StickAs always, appreciate the work Frank...
my pleasure :)
