It is the "give the correct answer" button.

Same reason as they use to put a "turbo" button on the first PCs. Because they knew nobody would ever push the "go slower" button that was first proposed. The other reason is that Microsoft made the convincing argument that the "go slower" function was best implemented in software as they have since proven.

Seriously, it is my understanding that the button which is named "simplified cubeful equity" means that it just takes the raw evaluation of wins/gammons, etc. and from that and given any score that you feel like entering, it estimates the cubeful value. That is different from a normal cubeful evaluation in which it has the benefit of the lookahead which does a score adjusted cubeful evaluation at each ply. With the lookahead it can actually see positions getting cashed and knows those are 100% wins (or losses) while the simplified cubeful value is effectively a 1-ply cube evaluation (but using the cubeless win estimates that came from the 3-ply eval).
