I've not gone through all of the numbers, and I don't intend to do so; however, I assume those staying at the hotel, receiving the discount, and cashing, effectively, have increased their return in comparison to the traditional scheme. I recognize a certain cost for a weekend of enjoyable play and the opportunity to cash.

Certainly, the local players and those who, for whatever reason, decide not to stay in the tournament hotel may have a marginally reduced return. But I know the number of paid room nights is most important to the hotel and the director, and to the terms that may be negotiated in the future.

However, it is not inexpensive to host and direct such an event. I applaud Chiva's efforts to provide us another quality ABT tournament, in a new venue, and in a nice vacation spot for a few extra days if one wishes. I appreciate some of the innovative features, financial and otherwise, that he is introducing. I think we should give it a try before we run it down.

With the participation of Bill Davis, Peter Kalba, perhaps Jeb Horton and others I think it will be a quality, well-directed tournament. At this juncture, I plan to attend.
