LV Cube Rollout

It is certainly a weak part of my game understanding the effect on cube action of small leads at the beginning of long matches. This is a pass on a cube to 2, yet a blunder to drop on a cube to 4. Obviously the score and cube level is always relevant, but I find it difficult to place such a huge value on a 4-1 lead in a 15 point match where the leader could certainly use a full 8 points even if the cube is reshipped given that gammon losses are very small. What if the match were to 21 instead of 15? Looks like the take is then TCTC. 11-away for the leader is a blunder to take, while 17-away is pick-em. It is clear that even with a long distance to the finish line (but not too long), a small lead and a 4-cube matters a great deal. Lesson learned.
