Hmm. Rock and a hard place. Obviously there are shots either way. But is it possible that what is lost by giving up the bar might be gained back by reanchoring on the ace point or hanging there with a single checker? Somehow I doubt it, but I can see it being close since it pretty much sucks either way. I'm playing 24/18 for sure. Otherwise, it is just my kind of luck to immediately get and hit the shot after a 16 or 26 and then be unable to leap with a 6 while my board collapses. Then I hit a shot in the bearoff and lose anyway.

And after running off the bar point, lets not overlook all of the match winning gammons to be won when white is suckered into hitting with a 21 and we respond with 16 from the bar.
