Time warning for digital clocks

It's a crutch for the player who isn't paying attention. I doubt any inexperienced clock player is actually going to time out, the entire time they're playing they'll be worried about their precious minutes, only when one is comfortable with the clock will they come closer to the limit.

I also would personally remind anyone I knew was new to the clock when they got short on time but if I'm playing an experienced clock user I think the alarm is gimpy. Do chess players get a reminder "hey jackass, running low!?"

One of the short terms reasons for clocks is to make sure the tournament proceeds at a reasonable pace. I have more long term goals for clocks too and a friendly reminder isn't part of the deal.
