At the risk of also consigning myself to "intermediatocracy", I'll start by saying that I don't like making the 2 point here. It's antipositional, and the opponent has a very positional position, so that play would give him a positional advantage, or something like that. Between the hit and the bar point, I like the bar better because after you do that, he can't do much of anything for quite awhile. There aren't any immediate dice-barf sequences, and you can now try to patch the holes in your forward game without having to worry about escaping your last back man. However, the hit has a lot in its favor, including the gain in the race, so if it rolls out best I won't drop dead of surprise.
