I jump and hit here, and am fairly certain
An opening 64 is close between running and making the 2. Here there are at least two quite strong additional reasons for the run:
- Hitting on white's 14 is much stronger than on white's 23, removing an builder and stealing 9 extra pips.
- White has made the 5 point so jumping out is more valuable than after the opening
The two other main differences from the opening position seem less conclusive to me:
- I have made the three point, and a second made point, makes the third point more valuable. This counts for making the 2 point, but it also means that even more of my builders have been taken for low points, and less are left for the 4 and 5 points. Meanwhile white is making his big points, so maybe building my board backwards isn't such a great idea here?
- My back checkers are already split. On one hand this makes it easier to jump/anchor later, but it also means that I am vulnerable to Whites builders and already started board, so I am not sure whether this counts for or againist the jump
