I have always been extremely cynical of on-line play for cash -- such entire systems are too easy to compromise/manipulate by unscrupulous players and by the servers themselves should they wish to fraudulently maximize their profits -- there are many ways to do so. I think this is not only true of backgammon and poker but also, likely, any other game for money on-line.
